Calmeyer’s Legacy Calmeyer’s Lists Looking for Calmeyer Survivors and their Children ! Out of at least 3000 and possibly as many as 4700 Jews that were able to avert being sent to the concentration camps through the intervention of Hans Calmeyer, we would love to gather more details and stories and make a “Brook” (browser book) of that someday. THAT is the true legacy of Hans Calmeyer: lives leading to more lives leading to yet more lives. Several generations are already gone, the camp escapees certainly, and many of their children already, but we hope that somewhere along the line there are family remembrances of those terrible event in the Netherlands in 1942-1943.
